HARVEST PARTY INFORMATION

October 2010

Dear Parents,

On Monday, Nov. 1, from 1:45-2:45, the second grade classes will be having a Fall Harvest mini carnival. Each classroom will have 3 to 4 activities set up and the children will be able to select the activities in which they would like to participate. After each activity that they do they will receive a “prize”. We will need your help in the following ways. First, each classroom will need about 3-4 parents to help run the activities. If you would like to help in this way please let your child’s teacher know by Friday, Oct. 22.

Second, each child’s “ticket” to the mini carnival will be a bag of
“party  prizes” such as you would purchase to give to children at a birthday party. They could go along with the fall theme, such as spider rings, funny lips, long fingernails, wash off tattoos, stickers, fall pencils or erasers, or could be just a bag of generic party prizes. We are asking that none of the prizes be food or candy. Suggested places to shop might be the Paper Factory, Party for Less in Issaquah, Target, Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store, or any other party related place. It would be helpful if your donation bag contained at least 10 – 12 prizes. These will be used as the prizes at each activity. Please have your child bring their bag of prizes to their classroom beginning the week of Oct. 25.

This activity has been very successful the past several years. The children are actively involved for the entire time and have thoroughly enjoyed the activities in each classroom. If you have any questions about the mini carnival or are willing to be a helper that day, please call or email your child’s teacher at school.

Sincerely,

The Second Grade Teachers
