What a week!

We have had such a busy week!  It started with Tuesday and the power outage!  Wow...that was crazy!  The kids had all kinds of stories to tell Tuesday morning!  I am guessing that we are going to be in for a wild winter! 

Then on Wednesday we had Nature Vision come out for a visit.  That was very fun - we learned all about fossils, how old scientists say our Earth is, a little about dinosaurs, and we even got to make our very own fossil!  That was a great treat for the students!  Please be sure to ask your child something they learned about fossils!

Wednesday we also had our fifth grade Reading buddies come in for a visit!  They got to pair up with their buddy and read...what a great experience for both grades!

On Friday we had an extremely short day - and it went by in a whirlwind!  I am looking forward to meeting with all the parents during conferences!

Happy Veteran's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thursday off!  We had a wonderful assembly on Wednesday to celebrate our Veterans - and it sure did generate a fantastic conversation in our class about all of the Veteran's we know and celebrate!

Next week we will be having our first "in-house" field trip.  Nature Vision will be coming to our classroom to teach us all about fossils, and we will be creating our very own fossil to take home!  It should be a lot of fun!

 We will be starting conferences on Friday!  If you have not signed up for conferences yet, please feel free to check the conference schedule on our blog, and then email me a time that would work.  I will be sending home a reminder on Monday to those who have not signed up yet!  I am looking forward to meeting with all the parents!  Also, remember that starting on Friday, November 19th the kids will be on an even earlier release time...they will be getting out of school at 11:25 instead of 12:55!

A Few Quick Reminders...

Don't forget to sign up for November conferences!  There are about 5 parents that haven't signed up yet.  Please look at the schedule on the blog to see what times are available and email me to let me know what works best for you!

Also, there are about 10 students who have not turned in their November homework!  Please don't forget to do so soon! 

I would like to thank all of the parents who helped out at the Harvest party on Monday - you guys were FANTASTIC! 

Remember, set your clocks back one hour this weekend due to daylight savings time! 

There is a Veteran's Day assembly Wednesday, November 10th from 9:10 - 10:00.  There will not be school on Thursday.
